Attendance Policy

Attendance is vital to the learning process. Please have your child at school every day, ready for each day. 

Absences

*** Parents must contact the school by 8:30 A.M. to let us know if their child is not attending school. They must also provide a reason for the absence.*** 

When students return to school please send a signed note with your child explaining their absence. Be sure to include your child's name, their class number, the date and reason for their absence. Students who are absent for 3 consecutive days will be contacted by the school.

Extended Vacation

We highly discourage traveling during instructional days. However, please contact Ms. Chorzepa in case of emergency travel. 

Lateness

School starts at 8:30 a.m. Doors close at 8:35 A.M. Please use the main entrance doors after 8:35. Students will receive a late pass. Please make every effort to have your child come to school on time each day

Picking up your child early

If you do need to pick up your child early please send a Class Dojo message to your child's teacher in advance.

Students may not be picked up during the lunch period. If you plan to pick up your child please do so before or after lunch. 

• Kindergarten: 10:40-11:30 A.M.

• 1st Grade / 3rd Grade / 4th Grade: 11:30-12:20 P.M.

• 2nd Grade / 5th Grade / 6th Grade: 12:20-1:10 P.M.

Also, students may not be picked up after 2:00 P.M., as it is too close to dismissal.

Security procedures

Upon arriving at our school building, you will be greeted by our security agent. All parents entering the building must sign in and provide photo identification and proof of vaccination. 

Blue emergency contact cards

During the first week of school, each family will fill out the Blue Emergency Cards on Operoo. It is important that you fill out the card completely. These cards contain contact information for the school to use in the event of an emergency. You must complete cards for each of your children attending our school. Only people listed on the card may pick up your child, so be sure to fill in all those you give permission to do so. Any time the contact information on the Blue Card changes, please update it on the Operoo website/app.
